We looked for a location similar to the original Whits Frozen Custard in Granville. We wanted a small town atmosphere with good pedestrian traffic and a diverse mix of restaurants and shops. We believe that Uptown Westerville meets these requirements. It is a historic neighbourhood with buildings dating back to the 19th century. It is also just a few blocks from Otterbein University.

Our Location is close to Indian Mound  Mall and many other restaurants, making it a convenient place to stop and relax. With many menu items, fresh custard, vegan and no sugar added treats, and a roomy indoor seating area for all groups and sizes, what's not to love?

During and after COVID, the local Whit’s in Ashland, OH had to reduce their hours due to lack of available employees. Not wanting to see a local small business fail, Lori, a full-time Nurse Practitioner, decided to apply for a job to work a couple of nights per week to help the store survive.  She loved the atmosphere and believed in the product so much that she wanted to look into opening a Whit’s in another city with her husband, Rick, a full-time elementary school principal.  In talking to Whit’s corporate headquarters about opening a new store, they told them that the Ashland owners were considering selling their store.  Three months later, Lori and Rick were the owners of Whit’s of Ashland, Ohio in their hometown. Lori and Rick have had great support and sales from the Ashland community due to having such a great product.  Whit’s Frozen Custard is unlike any other dessert.

Whit's of Ashland is walking distance from the Ashland University, Ashland County Fairgrounds, businesses, shopping, and neighborhoods. Located in a former bank building, the unique vault remains in place and has become quite the conversation piece. Many customers ask if that is where we keep our secret recipes! We have a great location, inside and outside seating, and a convenient drive thru. We are very family oriented and make our customers feel like they are part of our family! Zach and Cara Latimer have lived in the Bellefontaine area since 2004.  They have 3 kids, Cadence, Dominic, and Wyatt, who all have or are currently attending Bellefontaine City Schools.  They first were introduced to Whit's when Cadence started working there shortly after it opened.  When they found out there was an opportunity to become owners, they were excited to be able to give a little back to the community.  Their goals are to be able to support the local community and schools of their children and employees.  They want to provide a work environment that allows local kids to get some experience while not being afraid to make mistakes and learn. 

Enjoy beautiful downtown Bellefontaine, alive and vibrant with some of the best craft, clothing, and antique shopping around. Whit's Frozen Custard is located on South Main Street, one of the most picturesque small town blocks in Ohio. With our home ties to Granville and having lived in Columbus since attending college at OSU – I wanted to continue to serve Whit’s Frozen Custard in the neighborhoods I have called home for the last 20 years. With the Short North in place, it was time to expand to my home turf – Clintonville. After looking for a couple years, we feel we have found the perfect location and fit to finally serve up some Whit’s Frozen Custard made fresh daily. We already had a nice following from Weiland's Market and Lucky's Market as well as our novelty Whittie Sandwiches from Studio 35 in Clintonville. Now I can’t wait to walk to work and serve it fresh too!

At the Clintonville location we are proud to serve the Vegan community with a freshly made daily vanilla as well as a weekly flavor. We have expanded our Vegan options to include a variety of toppings, shakes made with Flax milk, vegan frozen cakes (pre-made or special order), as well as a fully dedicated grab-n-go with vegan pints/quart flavors and our famous Vegan Whittie.

Our family moved to Granville in 2009. One of our first stops was at Whit's Frozen Custard and we loved it! Whit's was the favored meeting spot in town. We moved to Marietta in 2013. I was a nurse, but decided to take some time off to get the family settled in the community. After a year off, my husband asked me, "When are you planning on going back to work?" Although I laughed, I had an idea in the back of my mind. My parents had owned their own business and I had always dreamed of owning my own business, so I called Lisa Whitman to discuss franchise opportunities. It was a whirlwind after that! We ended up buying a gorgeous historic Pure Oil gas station that had sat vacant for nearly a decade. We added a large patio space where I envisioned the perfect community meeting spot in Marietta. We opened our doors in May of 2015 and have loved every minute of it!
