We looked for a location similar to the original Whits Frozen Custard in Granville. We wanted a small town atmosphere with good pedestrian traffic and a diverse mix of restaurants and shops. We believe that Uptown Westerville meets these requirements. It is a historic neighbourhood with buildings dating back to the 19th century. It is also just a few blocks from Otterbein University.

Whit's Frozen Custard Heath opened its doors in July 2013.  We searched for our great location so that we could serve Heath and the Newark area. Our Location is close to Indian Mound  Mall and many other restaurants, making it a convenient place to stop and relax. With many menu items, fresh custard, vegan and no sugar added treats, and a roomy indoor seating area for all groups and sizes, what's not to love?

During and after COVID, the local Whit’s in Ashland, OH had to reduce their hours due to lack of available employees. Not wanting to see a local small business fail, Lori, a full-time Nurse Practitioner, decided to apply for a job to work a couple of nights per week to help the store survive.  She loved the atmosphere and believed in the product so much that she wanted to look into opening a Whit’s in another city with her husband, Rick, a full-time elementary school principal.  In talking to Whit’s corporate headquarters about opening a new store, they told them that the Ashland owners were considering selling their store.  Three months later, Lori and Rick were the owners of Whit’s of Ashland, Ohio in their hometown. Lori and Rick have had great support and sales from the Ashland community due to having such a great product.  Whit’s Frozen Custard is unlike any other dessert.

Whit's of Ashland is walking distance from the Ashland University, Ashland County Fairgrounds, businesses, shopping, and neighborhoods. Located in a former bank building, the unique vault remains in place and has become quite the conversation piece. Many customers ask if that is where we keep our secret recipes! We have a great location, inside and outside seating, and a convenient drive thru. We are very family oriented and make our customers feel like they are part of our family! Our family moved to Granville in 2009. One of our first stops was at Whit's Frozen Custard and we loved it! Whit's was the favored meeting spot in town. We moved to Marietta in 2013. I was a nurse, but decided to take some time off to get the family settled in the community. After a year off, my husband asked me, "When are you planning on going back to work?" Although I laughed, I had an idea in the back of my mind. My parents had owned their own business and I had always dreamed of owning my own business, so I called Lisa Whitman to discuss franchise opportunities. It was a whirlwind after that! We ended up buying a gorgeous historic Pure Oil gas station that had sat vacant for nearly a decade. We added a large patio space where I envisioned the perfect community meeting spot in Marietta. We opened our doors in May of 2015 and have loved every minute of it!
