During and after COVID, the local Whit’s in Ashland, OH had to reduce their hours due to lack of available employees. Not wanting to see a local small business fail, Lori, a full-time Nurse Practitioner, decided to apply for a job to work a couple of nights per week to help the store survive. She loved the atmosphere and believed in the product so much that she wanted to look into opening a Whit’s in another city with her husband, Rick, a full-time elementary school principal. In talking to Whit’s corporate headquarters about opening a new store, they told them that the Ashland owners were considering selling their store. Three months later, Lori and Rick were the owners of Whit’s of Ashland, Ohio in their hometown. Lori and Rick have had great support and sales from the Ashland community due to having such a great product. Whit’s Frozen Custard is unlike any other dessert.

Whit's of Ashland is walking distance from the Ashland University, Ashland County Fairgrounds, businesses, shopping, and neighborhoods. Located in a former bank building, the unique vault remains in place and has become quite the conversation piece. Many customers ask if that is where we keep our secret recipes! We have a great location, inside and outside seating, and a convenient drive thru. We are very family oriented and make our customers feel like they are part of our family!
