Whit's Custard is made with cage-free certified eggs, milk, and cream that is sourced from pesticide-free grass-fed cows who are free from antibiotic and hormone treatment. Small fresh batches of frozen custard are churned right here at the shop! We make the featured Daily Flavor(s) in addition to fresh churned Vanilla and Chocolate throughout the day. Whit's Custard is served hand-dipped in a cup, a waffle cone/bowl, topped sundae style, or handspun for a shake! Quality topping choices are available to create a Whitser that allows our customers to create their own ‘mix-in’ flavor combination. We make traditional affogato, hot espresso shots, classic malts, floats, banana splits, whitties (frozen custard cookie sandwiches), novelty items like chocolate-dipped bananas, and the DeLand Dipper!
We offer on-the-go items that are made here at the shop in our Grab N’Go; quarts, pints & custard cakes! We make custom cakes for any occasion on 48-72 hours' pre-order.
Dietary-restricted family members can enjoy a scoop too! We proudly make and serve a variety of Gluten-Free, Vegan, Dairy-Free, & No Sugar Added options.
We take extra precaution for those with nut allergies and have designated a “nut-free” whitser machine. However, we recommend sundae-style toppings, rather than the mix-in option, for those who have a severe nut allergy.
"The Scoop on Whit's DeLand"
In January 2021, Whit's Frozen Custard opened in downtown DeLand within walking distance of Stetson University. Our sons, Dominic and Dante, were the first employees to be hired at Whit’s Frozen Custard of DeLand. As the owners lived out of state, I found myself stopping by the shop quite a bit, and with the investment of time given, the owners asked me to step into the role of store manager in the spring of 2021. Whit's had already become an extension of our home and a gathering place for our community friends. In 2022, the opportunity came to purchase Whit's DeLand and I took a leap of faith to purchase the business! I truly believe that Whit’s Frozen Custard of DeLand has THE BEST CUSTARD and that it has a greater purpose than profit. This business is an opportunity to enrich lives by providing jobs for students and young adults, and a friendly gathering place for DeLand residents and visitors alike! Our goal is to partner with schools, and other non-profit organizations by giving back through fundraising and serving others right in our hometown. We look forward to growing with the community for generations to come. Stop by, say hello, and grab a sample or just dive into a scoop or two! We are open 7 days a week.
