WHIT’S FROZEN CUSTARD OF KNOXVILLE, TN

Kim’s favorite sweet treat since childhood has always been ice cream. When her youngest daughter, Sami, got one of her first jobs at Whit’s Frozen Custard in Wellington, FL, thinking it was just ice cream, Kim didn’t try it right away. In Florida there wasn’t frozen custard, there was only ice cream. One day Sami brought home some black raspberry chip and Kim gave it a try, she immediately fell in love. Once her daughter left for college and she continued to enjoy Whit’s every chance she got (ok, maybe more than 2-3 times a week.)
Kim’s plans were always to move to Tennessee once she became an empty nester. She wanted the mountains and seasons; she wanted fall and winter. She loves art and she ended up falling in love with Knoxville, and it’s support of the artistic community. Knoxville, fit everything she was looking for in a new hometown.
Working in the corporate world and running other people’s businesses most of her working life, she knew she was ready and she wanted to run her own business. Considering her favorite job ever was working in a comedy club, she knew she wanted to do something she loved. What did she love about the comedy club, she loved the freedom of not being chained to a desk all day, laughing, seeing the smiles on customers’ faces, and watching them enjoy themselves.
One day just before her planned move to Knoxville, Kim’s daughter casually mentioned that when she moved, she should open her own Whit’s Frozen Custard, since she loved it so much. The spark was lit!!! She did her research, saw there was only 1 Whit’s in Tennessee, which was located in Franklin, and decided she was going to take a leap of faith and open her own Whit’s Frozen Custard in Knoxville.
When Kim moved to Knoxville in March of 2022, she immediately started looking for a place to put her own Whit’s Frozen Custard. She found the perfect location for her first store and she hasn’t looked back since.
Whit’s Frozen Custard of Knoxville officially opened its doors on May 12, 2023! Kim and her team have had the pleasure of serving delicious frozen custard and bringing smiles to the Farragut community and surrounding areas ever since!!!
